Custom-Spec Looping Motion Videos fo Live Performances
TEO Art Festival, 2025
[ DESCRIPTION )
Panoramic motion graphics for the 2025 TEO Art Festival: The Sound of the Sea, designed to accompany orchestral and percussion performances.
[ CHALLENGE & DESIGN RATIONALE )
For the TEO Art Festival 2025 – The Sound of the Sea in Taitung, Taiwan, I created 18 panoramic looping motion backgrounds (48:9 ratio) that visually interpreted the atmosphere of each orchestral piece across two concert days. Each motion scene transformed music into imagery — from poetic French chanson and glowing dawn horizons to vibrant undersea animation and Arabian fantasy voyages. I developed an AI-assisted creative workflow using ChatGPT, Gemini, and Midjourney to craft tailored visual prompts. These AI-generated concepts were refined and animated in Adobe After Effects, applying masking, compositing, and seamless looping techniques to produce panoramic motion aligned with live performance rhythm.
The project required balancing artistic imagination with real-time performance practicality. Each piece demanded a distinct emotional tone and visual texture, yet all needed to loop smoothly across a 48:9 ultra-wide stage screen. Moreover, translating abstract musical cues into coherent imagery called for strong visual interpretation skills, precise synchronization, and an adaptive creative process across diverse visual styles — from realism to surreal fantasy.
